(If you would prefer to watch me dramatically act out my feelings on this subject please feel free to go here.)
So, remember I was telling you all about my post partum hair loss?!?!? And remember how I said I did not know where the fallen hair had actually come from? I said my hair looked the same and I wasn’t missing the fallen strands….well I am eating my words now!
I found out where the hair was coming from. THE VERY TOP OF MY HEAD, y’all. Yes ! The very top my hair is SOOO thin I want to cry. I guess I didn’t really notice before because I had all of my other hair to keep me company. But now that I got the sides cut off, my style DEPENDS on the volume up top so it’s more noticeable.
A couple weeks ago, M said something about the top looking a little less full than normal, but I didn’t think anything of it. I just thought it needed a little fluffing. NOPE! It’s thinning out.
So now I have to be more creative with the manipulation of my hair in that area. I’m also developing an action plan. I’m going to try castor oil mixed with a few essential oils and start massaging that into my scalp. I am also going to look into veggies that are good for hair health. I’ll keep you posted on my healthy hair diet as it further develops. I’m seriously contemplating doing some fresh fruit and vegetable juicing to see how that helps.
As sad as I am about this hair situation, the silver lining is, I can use this experience to help others and also bring this subject into the light (I mean NO ONE mentioned this to me before I got pregnant, so I wonder how many others out there are as oblivious to this as I was). AND I get to possibly come up with a new product for Peace Love and Sunshine Products!!
This is yet another moment when I am SO HAPPY I AM A NATURAL!! I don’t even want to imagine what this experience would be like with a relaxer. The curlies camouflage the loss very well. My appreciation of short hair is also helping, because if push comes to shove I won’t be too hurt if I have to just cut it all off and start over. I mean it’s just hair {*gasping* did I just say that?!?!?}, I can live without it. But let’s just hope it doesn’t come to that :D
In the mean time check out my hair. It’s still cute :D
Peace
~Sunshine

I saw your video. It was very funny. Seriously, I think you should go see a dermatologist or your primary care physician. Often we try to treat ourselves an. While continuing to take your prenatal vitamins may help in the short term, you really want your hormones to rebalance. I think that if you asked him/her for natural remedies they would be able to suggest something for you. Please keep us updated.
THIS HAIR IS KILLIN ME!!! I LOVE IT!!!
YEAH! What Madam b.Fly said!!! OW!
you look absolutely fab! I just had a baby too, so i was wondering about post-partum hair loss! I recently relaxed my natural hair (im transitioning back to natural now though) so im dreading the possibility of losing a bunch of hair :( Luckily the relaxer didnt destroy ALL of my kinks, so if push comes to shove i can wear it curly to mask the loss.
anywho though, like i said before, your hair=fab. that hair cut is absolutely beautiful on you!
I looooove this cut! You wear it well!

Hey Sunshine! I thought your video was highlarious!
But as far as remedies, I've heard of women taking garlic pills to ease shedding (regular shedding as well as postpartum shedding). I've never used the remedy myself and I would recommend reading up on it for any side effects, especially if you're breast feeding the adorable Shea Baby.
HTH!
Gurl! You. Are. Hilarious! Take your time, massage your scalp gently daily and try not to manipulate too much. Minimize on the outside stress as much as you can as well. Don't worry gurl, YOU. LOOK. FLY!!! and that video was a trip.
Gosh! I am so jealous! Beautiful hair. Such an inspiration!
Your hair is too cute Sunshine! I love it! I'm so sorry to hear bout the shedding. I'm sure you'll figure something out to slow the shedding down. Have you looked into garlic supplements or using garlic on your hair? There are garlic conditioners specifically designed for shedding. I'll be following to see how it goes.
I watched the video and I was on the floor! You are so funny! I was imagining Shea baby covered in hair! and LOL at the funeral and people doing voodoo on it!!
Do you think jamaican black castor oil might help?
You still look amazing and you have such a beautiful figure!
Cute indeed. You are giving Miss Rihanna a run for her money with that cut girl, thin or thick =). I'm sure your hair will be back to its pre-pregnancy state in no time. Good luck.
hi sunshine! i absolutely love ur hair! u give me inspiration for my twa. i heard that if u rub cayenne pepper mixed w/ evoo in the troubled spots will help more blood circulation for hairgrowth.
Your hair has to be the most gorgeous strands I've seen in a long time!
I'm sorry to hear about your hair loss. I'd love to hear how the castor oil mix works out for you. I'm going to start massaging coconut oil into mine but I have a plethora of castor oil in my house, so perhaps I should go with that, lol.
Sooo cute! Love it!
The video had me cracking up!! Loved it ;) Your cut looks sooooo fab-u-lous!
I've read that castor oil, biotin, and prenatal vitamins will restore the hair. I've used castor oil on thinning edges and my hair grew back.
You look sooooooooo cute! extremely cute!! I love the hair and the weight, girl! Work it girl!
I enjoy your blogs!
